Short version: We never store your WhatsApp messages. Your conversations are processed in real-time on your device and immediately discarded. Only the extracted task data (title, deadline, source contact) is saved β and only on your device.
At ChatTask AI ("we," "us," or "our"), your privacy is our core priority. We built our product specifically to operate with maximum data minimization. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and your rights regarding your personal information.
1. Notification Access Permission
To function as an AI task extractor, ChatTask AI requires the Notification Listener Permission on Android. This allows the app to read incoming WhatsApp message notifications in real-time.
- Transient Processing Only: When a WhatsApp notification arrives, we analyze its content using our AI to detect actionable tasks and deadlines. This analysis occurs on your device.
- No Permanent Message Storage: The raw text of your WhatsApp messages is never stored permanently β not on your device's database, not on our servers. Once the AI classification is complete, the raw message payload is discarded immediately.
- No Data Sharing: We do not sell, share, or transfer your message content or personal data to any third party for marketing, advertising, or any other purpose.
2. Data We Collect and Store
We store only the minimum data required to provide the service:
- Your account email address and encrypted password (for account creation)
- Extracted Task data: task title, inferred deadline, source contact name, and priority level
- App settings and AI preferences configured by you
- Subscription status (Free / Pro / Business)
We do not collect or store: full message text, message history, contact phone numbers, media files, or voice notes.
3. Use of Third-Party AI Services
We utilize OpenAI's API for natural language processing to classify messages and extract task data. Data sent to OpenAI is:
- Limited to the minimum necessary content to perform the classification
- Governed by OpenAI's strict zero-data-retention enterprise API policy
- Never used to train public AI models
4. Your Data Rights β Access, Export, Change, and Delete (Google Play Data Safety)
You have full control over your data. All of the following rights can be exercised directly within the ChatTask AI app, at no cost, without needing to contact support:
- Export your data: Go to Settings β Account & Privacy β Export My Data to download a complete JSON copy of everything we store about you β your profile, extracted tasks, suggestions, AI usage logs, preferences, and subscription history.
- Change your password: Go to Settings β Account & Privacy β Change Password to update your account password at any time. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and are never stored in plain text.
- Delete your account: Go to Settings β Account & Privacy β Delete My Account. Upon confirmation, our system performs a complete cascade deletion: your user profile, all extracted tasks, AI usage logs, chat metadata, and pending reminders are permanently wiped from our databases within 7 days.

5. Google Play Data Safety Form Compliance
This section addresses Google Play Store Data Safety requirements:
- Data collected: Email address, app activity (task interactions)
- Data NOT collected: WhatsApp messages, contacts, location, financial info, photos/videos
- Data shared with third parties: No personal data is sold or shared
- Data encrypted in transit: Yes, all API communications use TLS 1.2+
- Data deletion and export: Users can export all personal data as JSON or request permanent account deletion from within the app (Settings β Account & Privacy), or by email
- Security practices: Follows Play store best practices
6. Children's Privacy
ChatTask AI is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
